I am just curious. The CP speak as if they have no input in saving someone's position. Does anyone know the process?

CP has more input than they let on. They discuss among each other 'So, who are you losing?'. CP has a staffing budget and ratio and has to work out with HR who stays and who goes. To some small degree, it is a popularity contest. CP's are not always the best to decide who stays and who goes as they don't necessarily know the employees work ethics or abilities. Of course, no CP is going to say 'Sure, I decided I didn't want that employee here anymore'. It's business.
You guys writing about this cp rif stuff are jackasses! You are in an educational industry so get educated then post intelligent responses...
In Dallas the CP has zero control on this and everything else for that matter.
All campuses had a dollar amount to meet. The cps had to figure it out. All dofs were gone automatically and reduction/cuts of doas and docs.
Every region handles it differently. Please don't fool yourself into thinking it's a popularity contest and those remaining won. There's a set of criteria, at least in our region, that the CP has to follow and the staffing ratio in each department is always dictated! Otherwise, they are setting the campus up for a lawsuit.
