Those who were laid off (myself included) are on the payroll til next Friday and then have 2 weeks severance pay after that. No vacation or sick time. Just the two weeks pay.

Depends what state you are in. California is one of the states were you get it.

California law provides that accrued vacation time or PTO belongs to the employee. Employees may either use their vacation time during their employment, or cash out the value of those hour at the time of their separations. When an employee quits or is fired or laid off, all accrued, unused vacation time must be included in the employee's final paycheck.

According to California law, PTO and vacation are wages that have been earned by, but not yet paid to, the employee. Once you earn vacation or PTO, it cannot be taken away. This means "use it or lose it" policies, in which employees must use vacation by a certain date or forfeit it, are illegal in California.

The catch is that employers aren't legally obligated to offer vacation or PTO in the first place. If they do, however, then they must comply with the law

No vacation or sick leave. They are only going back to February for severance and the max is 2 weeks. Benefits end at the end of September.

That is correct. Zenith does not pay any vacation or sick leave due to it not being accrued but given at the beginning of the year instead of being earned/accrued. That policy was changed about a year or two ago to ensure use it or lose it in case one is ever canned or laid off. Case on point i was given the 60 day notice around 07/01 and they told us during our working notice that we had to use it or lose it. Unfortunately for those who was just canned without notice, you do not have the opportunity to move on.

Zenith doesn't pay vacation or sick when you leave, regardless of the reason.
