Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

Thinning the herd

As it is already known HP is requiring teleworkers to move into HP facilities even though there is no space for them. Those who make the move will soon be required to relocate to Atlanta or Houston at their own expense. Currently in Atlanta those workers who have made the move in are being stuffed into conference rooms sharing a table sitting side by side. In Houston they are being forced to use old buildings vacant for years that are run down and smell. The reason they are not being put into offices or cubicles is this, HP is planing to offshore most of their jobs to India, anyone who they deem as not top performers will be gone the rest will continue to have a job for now. So if you are a teleworker or a call center worker in the US be advised most of you will be thinned from the HP herd and soon but until them you can bet that HP will make your work life a living hell...

The attack is on all High Cost headcount, not just teleworker. Meg in her great wisdom has decided to further gut the united states workers by 50%. That is right kids, half of you will not have jobs soon. Why? Because she thinks you cost more than low cost countries like India, Costa Rica, and Bulgaria.... Who cares that your output is twice the other locations.. Because Europe and many countries have labor laws protecting their people, and you, americans, do not... so, your out.

They are also dumping teleworkers without even the option of moving to a site, including top performers and first level managers.
