Bitchin*'s fine, but what you really should be doing is this - WRITE YOUR CONGRESSPERSON - tell 'em that the "top dogs'" salaries should be slashed to save the "peons'" jobs. How do you know the number of days? What is going to happen on Sept 24 or therearound?????
I left OMX shortly as the merger with OD. Virtually, all our highest ranking officers left the company and told us not to worry while they walked away with millions in the bank. I was a TL for three years and knew it was not going to end well. I still have friends working there and I hope they are doing the smart thing and looking for new employment and saving up. The office supply business is a dying one and the vast majority of business customers will simply buy their supplies online. Any local store can replace OMX and OD for school supplies. Also, the tech section of OD will never compete with the likes of Best Buy. There is simply no room for office supplies to grow.
Guess I got out in the nick of time. I was an ASM... I started looking back in Feb after the buyout was first announced. I left the company at the end of July as an ASM took a paycut dropped down to a sales associate for a few weeks so as not to loose my vacation time and left the company. Before I left as ASM I was offered my own store as a GM and declined.
Same here. 2 AM and two TL (team leaders, store managers)
They let go all our AM in our area.
