Thread regarding ECMC layoffs

EUO: Logical Positivism twined with Deontology

Today I was one of about 40 people who were laid off. To all those who were laid off trust me, I understand. I want to say to everyone who lost their jobs it may be challenging but I wish you all success in the next chapter of OUR journeys. I also believe I have a duty to caution everyone to not allow bitterness or contempt to take hold. I believe today was a logical positive step for EVEREST but A NEXT CHAPTER FOR US. If laying me off will secure a more financial stable workplace at Everest for my former coworkers, then I wish they had laid off only me. From a logical positivism rationale leadership had a deontological duty to create a fiscally sound school and work place so i am indifferent to today news. To those who are still with EVEREST I wish you all success. To Linda K. thank you for caring enough to check on me daily as I lived a parent nightmare. To Rodney N. thank you for exemplifying professionalism. To those who were laid off I wish you all the best and a stable secure future. Thank You

Thanks Derrick, for the words of encouragement and seeing this as a positive not a negative. Yes, it hurts to lose your job but it hurts even more when we are in education and know that we the employees were there for the betterment of the students. We reap what we sow and those who can thoughtlessly mislead us with false truths will get their judgement one day. In the meantime, what can you do but go forward or give up, but I refuse to allow Zenith to make me bitter or angry.

964, don't listen to these folks telling you to stop the vulgar language. I'd rather you post that stuff here rather than buy a gun and start killing people. Post on, brother!!!!!!

Hey 143964, can we please stop with the vulgarities. Really, we are all adults here and when you write like this, you really do not show your maturity. There is no need for this type of writing. Thanks

I'm sorry but I don't feel any sympathy for Zenith Education Group. It may be different if the terminations meant anything to the betterment for the students, but it won't. Zenith has failed to abide by any of the promises it made to the employees, students and the general public. Hawn hired most of the upper management from CCi, continues the predatory recruiting, continues to trick students into adding on classes they don't need and can't afford, fudge the placement numbers and falsify grades and attendance. This whole thing would be hilarious if it wasn't for all the lives it's disrupting. The people still employed say they are doing it for the students, but in reality all you're doing is assisting with the deception to the students. An honest and solvent company does not deceive it's employees and or customers.

My intentions behind my writings was just to allow people to search for the positive in a terrible situation. After losing love ones this year and experincing a parent nightmare this year, i realize that losing a job is not that bad. Yes i have bills, yes i have obligations but i believe in the power of myself to always land on my feet. To anyone who was laid off i want you to know i understand, but also know i believe in your talent to bounce back up. To my friends who i left behind at Everest i do hope these layoff is able to bring a more financially sound company for you. To everyone who got laid off instead of bashing EVEREST lets help our fellow 'brothers & sisters' find jobs. Email eachother or call eachother. If anyone need help in finding a job i can and have help give out options to people in our situation. However what i refuse to do is use my energy to wake up and bash Everest. P.S its not called drugs its called ethics, faith, and believing in the power of the human spirit/American worker resilience.

There was a lot of talent I worked with who were just released (as was I.) I hope that each finds something that's not only a great opportunity, but a stable one as well. Derrick is a true professional, as were the others in "Marketing" I had a brief chance to work with. Time to move forward.

Very thoughtful post. Unfortunately this is just the beginning with many more coming in the next 30 days. Do your best to keep a positive attitude even though it will be very hard to do. Treat this as not the end but as a new beginning. When you begin your life after CCi/Zenith you will be amazed how much stress is relieved. Just imagine going to work and not being worried if it may be your last day. You have spent the last year working under more stress and anxiety than anyone should ever experience. Enjoy your new lives and good luck to you all.
