Clearly a cost cutting effort. Laid off employees all long term, with more than 10 years of experience.
Lots of knowledge and experience will be leaving that company.
Bigger and better things are ahead for those lucky enough to be offered a package.

I haven't heard an official number, but know of atleast 10 people in finance and IT that were impacted. All over 40 years old and more than 10 years of service.
One had received the highest company honor - Carlson Fellow award - in May. Five months later this person was told they were no longer needed.

Any idea how many were laid off this round? I've heard about a dozen. More rumored to be coming before year end.
