Joann Fabrics & Crafts, Inc. Hudson, Ohio. made sweeping staff layoffs this morning without warning. Many employees with more than 20 years experience at the corporate office were told they were losing their jobs effective immediately and without notice. Staff cuts included upper level managers, regional managers, buyers and even clerical assistants in the sweeping cull led by first year CEO Jill Soltau.

Yup. Many are over 50. No regard for who is a good employee vs who is a slacker. I used to think that the company was in good stead. Not any more. Some really stupid moves and I feel sorry for those who are left. God help them.
