I quit in 2014, changed line of work but I can tell you that there are many folks who consistently work 50+ hours per week at Monsanto. I know that many companies are doing the same thing but that's peaks and valleys, not consistently 50+. Now with the layoffs, the stability will be gone - that was one of the things that everyone at Monsanto liked (even though we went through Layoffs during the Great Recession). We'll see what happens now and how many folks will be cut, I am assuming there is about 20,000 emoployees, so 12% should result in 2.5K Monsanto Employees laid off - that'll be massive for any company, Imagine all the laptops piled up, 25000 of them, that'd be like a building built of discarded laptops. It's sad, as I really liked people that I worked with.

That's simply impossible for most workers, you WILL work more than 40 hours if you are in a professional position
No successful US based company will allow work life balance - you need to stay competitive, and as long one guy is running very fast, you need to run too. Let's go back to the topic of layoffs - this is a board for Monsanto layoffs news and not for whining about long hours and weekend work
