Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Watching from Afar

Do you realy think we care that they know who we are? If they cared about there worker they would find ways to spend the BILLIONS on finding ways to save jobs. They would not be wanting to buy other companies to kill more jobs. There has to be other ways out there to do this If we had the right management that would proble help. I don't know if that was a joke or not but the KILL JOB party is a bad move. This company need to find ways to save jobs not get rid of them. This is still a FREE COUNTRY so say what you want to say it may cost you your job but there are other jobs out there. God still has a plan for you life if it is here or another job.

Valynon- correct on all you write. This process started long ago when Steve was region one RVP then was ratcheted up when Bin-Yarab was RVP and then reached a climax with what's his name... can't remember. Heard they have a new one today... another peach I'm sure. However it is NOT a regional issue and is happening identically in ALL regions. They (Framingham) want all middle management to do the dirty work so the Otis's of the world can just sit back, with a supercilious look on his Ebonics speaking face and hope his complete failure is not discovered before he has fully funded his retirement. Just "axe" him to tell you how smart he is....

Anonymous173851 - I was not assuming anything, merely informing. I recently searched on an individual mentioned here. I had never heard of them until this forum. This individual discovered this and searched on me shortly thereafter. I'm sure they were disappointed to discover I don't work for Staples so they had no method of retribution which is, I believe, there motive in attempting to discover who I am. These people are nothing if not petty. They have wrecked a company by becoming entranced with there self importance and hobnobbing with politicos. They took their eyes off the ball and failed the stock holders. Wall Street has been exceedingly patient with SPLS. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop....

Regardless of the buyout, whichever way in goes, Staples is simply not a company worth working for any longer. They have demonstrated they do not want qualified store management. They have demonstrated they do not want to provide stores sufficient payroll to perform all tasks and provide quality customer service. I have personally witnessed the RVP of Region 1 harass good managers until they quit, or fire them for the most inane reasons, or cut their pay by $20k a year, hoping they quit. These were guys that made over $70k but ran great stores, put in 60+ hrs a week and managed with courage. To replace them, they hire people off the street that last maybe a year. There is a store near me that has had four GMs in the last 3 years. Everyone should be planning an exit strategy. If not, a least start documenting everything so you have ammunition when they eventually fire you. They do not want any long term people around.
