So with all of these layoffs, can they bump the day rate of us contractors backup?

Contractors are b---s---. Leeches who milk the system whilst staff gets laid off, even those that perform. Blame it on the management that keeps them there hidden in the layers of the system. I know of a contractor who works for the EVP in the last 20 years! No one dares question and HR turns a blind eye.

Asking for a higher rate when there are layoffs makes perfect sense as long as you provide value. Same reason banks charge bad credit risks a higher rate.

I am a contractor and I need money. I have to send money back home for my 10 children. I think the white people can just do other jobs.

I hope these contractors get canned ASAP. And then they can feel how the rest of us feel right now.

Bullshit!!! I will take a pay cut to keep my job, but you assholes really have the nerve to ask for more money?!? How about being grateful that u are still employed. You are a true piece of work!!! I'm not saying that you don't do a good job, but you have some nerve to ask for a pay raise on a layoff forum.

I'm asking the same question, Especially now that contractors are transfer knowledge to India resources, Shouldn't contractors be compensated for all their hard work and knowledge transfer?... And please don't give me this BS that "at least contractors have a job"
