Contractors vs Direct

I have noticed at Oxy that contractors are treated like outsiders. I have noticed this in my group to a pretty heavy degree and wondered if there are others that experience the same? I have worked contract before and not experienced this to such a harsh degree. Is this a normal culture at Oxy?

I am a contractor in Houston and I have not seen this treatment! What group are you in?

I worked as a contractor for years at Elk Hills and I agree. Contractors are treated like second class.

Sounds like the atmosphere at Elk Hills. Horrible place to work.

Oxy has a culture of hate - they have for a long time. That's why they couldn't get people for a few years after 2008/2009. People are picked out for persecution and victimization and, if they don't like it, are driven out with retaliation in performance reviews or expected to tolerate workplace bigotry. Persecuting contractors is just one option to attack those who are different. There are many more, some of which sink back to playground bullying at its lowest level.
