Finally we are going to get some cost relief this week. I hope we she'd quick and swift.

I have been tracking the Active Directory numbers I am not seeing a big shift. Our managers have said that they were only asked to review positions that were vacated by people leaving the company. In other words, If you can handle not back filling a position please don't fill it at this point. That would make a lot of sense in this down turn. If Devon was truly in trouble there would be more people leaving quicker. Also there would be a complete hiring freeze and they are still interviewing people for positions that are critical. Also the point made in another post was that Devon would announce the suspension of any bonus program and dividend suspension is the final warning that this is going south quick.
"This is far too less. To recover quickly we need more reductions quickly" ..... feel free to leave any day. The rest of us will appreciate your sacrifice.
That Recon petro company our of Oklahoma city & Calgary, Canada, I leased open hole tools from them & paid them 1 year in advanced, $100,000, the tools didn't work, the logging system is crap, all my customers claimed the logs were junk Then after 3 months Recon Petro wanted their tools back they took them but they never paid me back my money, Andrew & Alex Nygen & the owner Mike Boyle scammed me. beware of these guys
Like I said in my previous post, misery loves company. The trolls posting negative jive on here must be current/former Chesapeake employees, or former Devon employees.

People are getting released very quietly. There has not been a huge layoff announcement (like CHK, HAL, CHEV, BKR) because instead of a mass exodus, Devon is only doing a few a day. Plus, they are having people take early retirement, not back filling positions, and having a hiring freeze to cut down on salary and headcount.
"Heard a few people were exited quietly today Anyone hear who?" Really?!?!?!
OK first of all when was the last time anyone was walked out of the building and everyone and their brother didn't know who it was?
When someone is let go no matter who it is everyone around them knows about it almost immediately. Lync becomes lit up with the words ...Hey "insert name here" was let go!!! and before their ass hits the door cardboard box in hand everyone already knows.
Come on folks stop being stupid... a few folks get fired every week. Most likely they have earned the honor.
Heard a few people were exited quietly today Anyone hear who?
If you're going to post something like that then give a reliable source for your info. With no source given then we can just say you're speculating.
Tomorrow will be last working day for many expensive people. We have to do these cuts to stay competitive.
Big drilling meeting today.
Did someone say Chessa Pecker? Those are my favorite.
Scooter
I somehow doubt that any of what has been said here. Devon is actually doing quite well considering the price of Oil. We are reaching all our goals and we were even updated to Out Preform last week.
Here is the headline.
Analyst Actions: Devon Energy Upgraded to Outperform at Bernstein, PT Cut $5 to $58; Shares Up 1% Pre Bell.
Last month one of our business units explained while oil is a cost challenged business at the moment we can still turn a good profit at $50.00. Maybe even less depending on the well.
As always there are always going to be those that love to see others fail. I think it has something to do with their mothers not loving them as a child.
People come and go from any company. That seems kind of normal even in good times. So a technical manager getting let go seems kind of normal to me.
I have not heard of anyone recently. The post below is most likely a troll trying fan the flames of paranoia. You have to love them, I guess they have nothing better to do.
Oil had a decent rally this week so lets hope it keeps going. Good luck guys.
It can not happen on a Friday considering half the workforce is off...
Anonymous172666, because most idiots cannot appreciate where they are and what they do, they just have a job...
Friday is the day of relief.
I've heard at least one technical supervisor is TERM.

I'm amazed at how poorly most people on here form sentences. Anyone that can't at least do that has no business pulling down a top 20% salary. It's called proof reading people.
Why does everyone on here seems eager for layoffs to happen?
It's shed with the goddamn autocorrect half literate. More technically backward people like you will have trivia and beer on weekdays starting next week.
If you don't "layoff" over 500 or over a certain percentage of the company, you do not have to file (WARN) papers and do not have to publicize it. Just like the IT layoffs in April. Who knew but the employees close to them or in the know. Devon has to cut people and a little at a time works well to keep the publicity down!!!
Devon doesn't lay people off. There will just be an ongoing quiet attrition.
Misery loves company, so the Chessa Peckers are invading our site.
And you know this how?? I thought VPs have said no layoffs.
"... we she'd?" Are you retarded or what? That makes no sense you moron.
