Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

That's the rumor, we'll keep outsourcing or offshoring additional internal positions due to cost cutting initiatives. Microsoft has done this before, we have done layoffs, we have done org shuffles that make people leave or quit their jobs. But what if they continue to ship more and more jobs overseas. Depends on which survey you are looking, the IT outsourcing has a failure rate between 25% to 50%. Microsoft's IT management is fully aware this outsourcing deal will not save money but costing huge problems. But their opinion was ignored because the senior management just want to sell assets to cover holes in the book. The sad thing is, it will take couple years for the management to admit they made a mistake, by that time, the damage has been done, both to the company and the employees.
