Thread regarding Cameron International Corp. layoffs

Forget about "Cameron Cares" because...

Cameron doesn't care! All CAM employees should stop attending those useless town hall meetings. They are all BS! SLB will fire most of you anyway, so why waste your time attending such meetings. You need to spend your time looking for a job, especially those in HR, IT, LAW, CORPORATE REAL ESTATE, and FINANCE.

Cameron was a good company. They lost their expert hands. Weybridge facility is the worst place for working. Bunch of young global managers are spoiled this company name. Good people are left 2014. I hope SLB will salute rest of them soon.

My former Cameron teammates, this is why I left Cameron last year. With the promises never kept and quality (incompetency) of the VP appointments in V&M, it was a no brainier to leave a dis functional organization. My sympathies if you are just now realizing the black hole in your future, but never be the last to jump when the ship is well into sink mode. Congrats to all who had the fore site to leave pre-buyout and feeling sorry for those still hanging on....

I could not agree more! That "Cameron Cares" slogan is the just a load of crap. After 26 years there, I was laid off on Friday, March 6, and my medical insurance terminated on Sunday, March 8. When you lay off a 26 year employee and give him 2 days of medical insurance coverage; you don't fricking "Care". Not only that, you don't get your COBRA election package until it is mailed to you about 2 weeks after you are laid off. Then you have to mail in the election form with a check (no bank drafting or credit card payments allowed), so it is almost 3 weeks before you can prove you have medical insurance coverage. Does that sound like an employer who "cares"? HR should have had the COBRA election package as part of your lay off papers. I agree; HR is absolutely useless!

I used to work at Cameron. You are exactly right, Cameron doesn't care. That slogan is ridiculous. They care about their bonuses, that is about all. And the HR department was useless as tits on me.

@169990 - Your post is so TRUE! Management doesn't really care about us. They do care about their own pockets, though and most of them will make a TON of MONEY (in cash and SLB shares) when the transaction closes. Please do look out for yourselves as CAM (or any other company for that matter) will not. And that is the way CORPORATE AMERICA rolls!!!
