Like I said before, if these people are actual insiders, then they've been gravely misinformed about a lot of things. I'm sitting in front of a report that shows ACTUAL student populations. And no, I won't share it--that's not the point. The point is, you have people on this site making WAGs about things they know little or nothing about. So yes, there will be additional closings and mergers. We were told a month ago. I understand people are fearful of losing their jobs, but if that fear is keeping you from doing your job, then the honorable thing to do is to leave. Again, for the rest of us optimists, lets keep doing what we can to make a difference in our students lives. If you choose to continue working for Zenith, just do your job. Don't allow these false "profits", doomsayers, and haters still your joy.

OP=someone who cannot find another job.
Guess what? The satisfaction of changing students lives will soon warm the cockles of another reps/schools lives, not yours or anyone at Zenith because Zenith is done.
The schools are in teach out mode with out the label attached. The smart and qualified people are going on their own. It's done over finished.
@471, huh??? WTF are you talking about??
To OPSooth: Why "So sorry"? You adore being read by the minions. Who is "We" and who is "You" ? By all means, please share! Or does your agenda include the preservation of division between self aggrandizing "We" and "You" wannabe snitches? Let me guess. There is a "We"cret" society that excludes all of the You's, which certainly would preserve the division you celebrate. Glad you didn't want to paint a rosy picture because that "We"Team weed doesn't cut it for those acquainted with daily reality. Don't worry about disclosing the basis for your faith in "We". The minions can see it and after all, your faith is a stimulus for righting the wrongs done against all those students you are helping. Keep typing - your delusions are fuel for a real change.
@271, I also agree that they shouldn't stay if they believe the ship is sinking, but this, to me, feels different than SS CCi. I'm in agreement with some who've said we'll get down to 30-35 campuses. Although the industry is in decline, it's always been cyclical and we will rebound, and I believe we play an important role in our communities. I'm not looking at our current situation through rose colored glasses. I'm very pragmatic, and with that, I believe the company is doing what it must to save the schools that are viable. We will never be the behemoth we once were, but that's not a bad thing. We still can do a lot of good. I still love what I do.
OP Soothsayer - well I know you couldn't list 10 good things that are happening at Zenith, except the same 'ol line about "changing student's lives." YIPEE!! I appreciate you urging employees to work while they are employed by Zenith. I agree. You see things through rose colored glasses and most of us look around and see a company in decline and executive management that are struggling to make sense of what they purchased. Executive management's "encouraging words" fall on deaf ears when the are broken over and over again. Most of us chose to live in reality and extend that reality to hope. When reality sees no hope in a situation, they have a decision to make - fight or flee. You have chosen to stay and fight - good for you. Most are deciding to flee to better employment. A lot of the employees on this site are mad and angry. Do you blame them? Some of them are frustrated and are seeking wisdom. You have your OPINION about what is going on around you. Other people have their OPINION about what is going on here at Zenith. All OPINIONS are just that and unless posters are willing to put their actual name and contact information on their postings everything they say is OPINION, not fact. I have urged people who come here to look around and see the reality of the situation and make a decision to fight of flee. Many of them seems to be waiting until they actually receive their termination notice. I think these folks want to stay, but not on a sinking ship. I urge them not to wait, but start looking now for themselves and their family.
So sorry. While some of you were busy figuring out how to reply to my post, I was busy helping students. For the person who asked for 10 good things Zenith does, I'll say this. We get the biggest amount of satisfaction when students tell us how we helped change their lives for the better. A hundred different good things had to have happened before it was said. If some of you are or were at campuses that did wrong, there are many avenues to reporting the wrong doing. If you didn't because you're afraid that you'd lose your job or you didn't want to be labeled a "snitch" then there's only one word to describe you. I'm not trying to paint a rosy picture, but to give readers of this site an alternative to all of the gloomy forecasts, coming from people who don't have a clue. It's not necessary for me to prove to anyone that I know what I'm talking about. You can believe it or not. But what I'm saying is that I have faith that the vast number of current campuses will still be around after all the dust settles. It is very prudent for many of you to line up your ducks. If you're having to get your information from places like this, your leadership is not being transparent with you. So, as I will continue to say, look for another job if you don't think we're going to make it, but keep doing a good job as long as you're with Zenith. If you don't have the skill set that will allow you to truly do what you want to, GET IT NOW. Don't allow current and former disgruntled and obviously, very angry employees, scare you into leaving. When YOU are ready, do it.
At my campus the ACTUAL population is 367 students. Now considering that in 2009 the ACTUAL population was 1584 students that doesn't seem to rosy. In February when Zenith took control the ACTUAL population was 712. Projected population for January 2016 is 225 - 270. Not a very rosy picture is it?
OP-Soothsayers: You are one sick, sick person. In your own words you are an optimist. It is clear that you get your rosy, optimist attitude from "doing what we can to make a difference in our students lives." So, loading down students with debt that will never be able to pay back and an education that is so sub-par that they barely quallify to get a job flipping hamburgers at McDonalds.
I have noticed that OP Soothsayers has not come back with ONE good thing that Zenith is doing. I asked for ten. If you are still out there, we are all waiting for your "rosy" picture of the situation at Zenith. Come on, come on get your head out of those ACTUAL student population reports and give the "gravely misinformed" people who post here.
If you think that 2 weeks pay is a great severance package so be it. So many people seem to be confusing the 60 day Warn Act with severance pay. The people that were RIFed back in April fell under the Warn Act's 60 day notice because there were over 1000 people that lost their jobs. All the people left go since have not fallen under the Warn Act because it less than 1000 total employees and less than 100 at each campus. Now for the OP trying to paint a rosey picture, you all should know the student population at your campus and I am pretty sure it's very very low. Use your own judgement on where you feel your campus is heading. When a companies customers continue to decline and there is a reduction in force every three months the future can't look very rosy.
095 - Agree, with one minor correction: Severance is granted, not owed. Nothing compels organizations to pay severance. Zenith can elect to stop paying severance at any time. Happens frequently as an organization winds down. With that it mind, it is relatively better to get laid off sooner rather than later. Less competition for similar jobs and a higher probability of severance.
OP-Soothsayers: Have you ever considered that people trying to figure out their future is a positive thing. Denial of the reality of what is going on at Zenith and every other "career college" in the county cannot be healthy. I think you impune every employee that doesn't have a "rosy" outlook on Zenith. The honorable thing for all employees to do is continue drawing a paycheck and doing their jobs at Zenith, while looking for other (and hopefully) better employment. It is a win-win for the employee and their family and Zenith. If the employee leaves on their own, Zenith doesn't owe them severance. Think about it!
Sorry....network issues......
OP Soothsayers: Having a positive outlook is a good thing. You'll live longer. However, a balanced dose of reality will empower you to do the right thing. You don't have to look at detailed spreadsheets to understand the decline of the organization. Hawn has acknowledged it publicly. Every career school in the country is seeing massive enrollments reductions. The unanswered fundamental questions are: how long will ECMC continue to underwrite the losses, and will there be sufficient population for ANY campus to stay afloat? What do you see happening that gives rise to your optimism?

WOW another anonymous optimistic posting telling everyone to get your information from "reputable sources." REALLY???? Tell us who you are so that we will really believe that you are looking at "ACTUAL student populations." Until then I hope you realize that you have no more credibility than the folks that post doom and gloom here. Why don't you list 10 "good things that are happening in Zenith." I personally don't think you can. Until you have the guts to really identify yourself to those here your psychoanalysis of negative people getting off on the fear they create is truly CRAP. I believe it is the executives at Zenith/ECMC are creating the fear and negativity. The posters on this site who you claim are "making WAGs" are trying to figure out what to do.
What would REALLY get under the skin of people like 975, is if the optimists started posting good things that are happening in Zenith. There are a lot of people who want us to fail and you know, that may happen, as it has with other businesses. But it shouldn't happen because we rolled over and stopped doing are jobs. So, let's do what we can to prove them wrong. Seems to me a lot of these negative people get off on the fear they create. Sick...Stay positive and get your information from reputable sources, and use it to help you make a decision to stay or leave.
I'm thinking 975 is one of the "insiders" so you can be assured that he's GUESSING I'm full of crap, or not! 😊 Love and Peace
You sir are full of CRAP
