Another RIF

I posted in june about a RIF and nobody believed me. I have more info, and even though there were a few misguided cheerleaders that put me down, i am going to share it - same source as the one i had in june.

there will be another RIF in the December 2015 - january 2016 time frame.

unless things get better quick, we are looking at about 200 or so people.

Ok. Here is the key to all this. When Stephen Li set up the Chinese Engineering Center, he allowed the company to decrease costs associated with development and maintenance of our products. There was less of a need for employees in the U.S. To do that - that was pretty evident when they let Lily Z go and told her it was due to her performance, although she always produced. Now, it looks like 2015 was a bad sales year for us but that was due to the multi year bargains that happened in 2014. So we now have declining revenues and dismal sales this year. Something has to give.

I have heard more but am reluctant to share due to the attacks on others from what appears to be 15-20 company veterans

Hey Anonymous165231 - have you heard anything else on this?

I was just made aware of this site. I find it interesting that it confirms my suspicions. In any case - THANK YOU FOR SHARING!

To me this process has slowly ramped-up since the Intel acquisition. IMHO, Intel just doesn't understand the fundamental differences between selling complex software and selling hardware. It's an open secret that Intel is/was appalled that Wind's cost of sales. Intel is now going through the process of making Wind over in their image. This might work for Wind's IoT business over time, it WILL NOT work for it's existing RTOS business. The results are speaking for themselves this FY. The rumor of 200+ more folks this Dec/Jan seems plausible.

This is expected. While at Wind (for over 12 years), every one of those years - engineering folks were 're-structured' in December and sales folks in January!
