Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Who Will Be Left?

Is it just me or are the contractors outlasting the staff??? They aren't subjected to this IPF crap!

the low IPF is a justification to lay employees off. Did you know that many of the jobs will be posted on OR after everyone leaves Sep 30? many of the jobs are going to contractors and India

I'm a team lead where we had to focus on eliminating contractors. We went from 140 to 70. Unfortunately we are being forced to lay off staff as well. It is hard to hear how some managers talk about people.

Why are people on this site so rude? The post asked a simple question on the longevity of contractors vs staff and the fact that they are not being cut based on the whole IPF fiasco (or being cut as fast) and Anonymous139875 calls him/her an idiot?!? Wow... must be HR staff trolling. And from the looks of things there ARE some long time contractors being preserved as staff are being cut.
