Thread regarding Cameron International Corp. layoffs

Wake up call for CIO- Independent Contractors or Conspiracy

Get rid of high paid independent contractors in IT.......Run leaner at the top you fools instead of laying off the worker bees that actually WORK. You cut such pitiful little salaries chopping support staff. Cameron is a 1 (ONE) fortune company for Independent contractors. Cameron rarely trust their employees, by having "Independent Contractors" and consultants managers the top officials get thousands of dollars as bonus from that independent contractors and the vendor. Trust your employees........ Assign employees for the new project, many systems are handled by independent contractors for many years now and they are laying off employees and they hire high paid Contractors on the other side- why? conspiracy, just conspiracy. New CIO should wakeup and must analyze each and every team in IT. She is with the company for 3 months now, what she is doing in CCD in her room all the time???????

What ever you shout the independent contractors will stay in IT until Cameron exists, there is a NEXUS between these contractors and managers for sure. Cameron IT expected a lot from this CIO but so for she has successfully ran two or three town hall meetings, that's all.

139106 WELL SAID . If CIO has stuff in her brain she has to look into this matter immediately and should punish the management members who allowed these independent contractors for so long and also question them when we are on cost cutting & Cost Reduction why they are hiring the contractors and rolling off their poor employees. Cameron treats their employees as CHEAP LABORS and the independent contractors as royal person. Many independent contractors never show up on Friday's. HR has NO STANDARD POLICY, one of my team member work from home for the last 7 years, but when we ask for one day work from home for a genuine reason HR says take SICK leave. CIO has to deal that IT HR Manager and bring in a PROFESSIONAL HR Manager. kudos to 139106 for thoughtful writing.

Here's the deal management. Contractors should be used only as a cushion when extra work is needed and should NOT be permanent workers. During hard times THEY should be the first out the door. If you are dependent on contractors lay off your management staff for hiring the wrong people. It should be written in contracts just like government contracts you either put a contract worker on your payroll within 2 years or have to let them go. You are abusing those workers also with your cheap crap. Integrity, Cameron Cares my ass....

In Non SAP there are 28, SAP there are 47 independent undisposble contractors (Most of them are friends of management or managers). Many of them are more than 6 years as independent contractors in cameron and few are freshly hired. HR is definitely sleeping and cameron hiring process just favors the 3rd party vendors . CIO needs to analyze this situation

Perfect, each team has minimum 2 or more independent contractors working in cameron payroll for more than 8 to 10 years now, that means cameron couldn't find an employee with that skill set. HR is snoring loudly
