No layoffs for now but the company is suffering from fairly low work/life balance. This has been reported on many web pages, news coverage, TV, paper, etc. It seems that things keep getting worse, from year to year, while the executives are promising improvmenets. Too bad you are full of it.
Apple sucks. The folks who say they love working for Apple are people who are either brainwashed in Orientation or plain lying. Moving groups is impossible. Taking vacation is frowned upon. Getting reimbursement for expense reports is a complete joke. NDAs are another comedy. No trust. But they have the upper hand like Kevin Spacey in the movie: Seven Deadly Sins! Stay away if you are looking to apply. And thank the angel.
