Thread regarding Walgreens Boots Alliance layoffs

poor communication from management filled with cliches

Senior Execs thinks they can continue to progress and improve Walgreens systems by having offshore / contractors from India support the systems. Is the goal of the cost cutting to boost stocks in the short term??? Yes. Good luck with that greedy folks. I see their customer service declining. That's already evident with the management team - poor communication to its employees filled with BS cliche phrases; it's just a matter of time before that trickles to customers as employees gets irritated with management. Management team may fool some, but not everyone. But, in the short term, the executive team will have made their million$. That's all that matters to them.

I concur with lack of competence from the new offshore depts. As a field tech of 15 years, i've watched jobs that used to take us 5 -20 minutes turn into hours(even days) because of the new found incompetence. How is that "saving money"? The turnover rate of these offshore's is insane and there is just no knowledge retention, and that is very critical to have in IT. You are dropping vital technology right into the hands of poorly trained newbies and it's failing miserably yet we keep heading down that path. With this new announcement of 100 IT layoffs in 20 states in "small offices" i can only assume the cuts have finally reached us. I hope I'm one of them as I can no longer find pride in working for this foolish company.

I left Walgreens a few years ago after being there for 12 years. The outsourcing chased me away! Talk about a complete lack of competence from offshore! Walgreens management couldnt care any less about its employees, especially in IT.
