You have to wonder how public companies can pay senior executives millions in compensation - on the theory that they have the "vision" needed to guide the company to the promised land - only to find out that they don't know anything more than the average person and are just guessing. When they make bad bets (and HP's leaders have made a lot of those) they cover them by making endless organizational changes - hoping the noise will drown out their own incompetence. The people on the compensation committee are therefore either complete idiots, or they are doing the old "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" thing so they can feather their own pockets.
Making some of the worst leadership decisions i've seen in years.... Rather than getting rid of middle management lets fire our services employees, and rehire them back as contractors to make our books look better...
Idiotic really... Rather than fix the problem lets just fire all of our workers and hope they take this job offer from CIBER... IF they don't, oh well. Never mind about moral...
Let's see, fire an employee of say 20 or 30 years, but rather than giving you your severance package were going to get some OTHER company to hire you at a cheaper wage, with no vacation, and you can do the same job at HP again.... and that's going to work well for you HP? that's going to make employees want to work well? REALLY? WTF were you thinking.... Good luck with that HP.... IDIOTS.
Whitman leadership is an oxymoron. She has NO strategy, absolutely no vision or clue of how to grow and sustain business. All she's doing is gutting the company for short-term gain.
