Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

No Severance?

Folks were notified in last month they were being laid off with final date being in October. They are being asked to looked for other jobs, but the actual date is unknown and theres unlike past Layoffs - NO SEVERANCE. So you are saying all those being laid off between now and 10/31 have been told? And nobody is receiving severance?

More confirmation that leaving in August 2012 when HP was offering 15 months early retirement incentive was a great career move.

Making some of the worst leadership decisions i've seen in years.... Rather than getting rid of middle management lets fire our services employees, and rehire them back as contractors to make our books look better... Idiotic really... Rather than fix the problem lets just fire all of our workers and hope they take this job offer from CIBER... IF they don't, oh well. Never mind about moral... Let's see, fire an employee of say 20 or 30 years, but rather than giving you your severance package were going to get some OTHER company to hire you at a cheaper wage, with no vacation, and you can do the same job at HP again.... and that's going to work well for you HP? that's going to make employees want to work well? REALLY? WTF were you thinking.... Good luck with that HP.... IDIOTS.

RE this - This is true - confirmed by a co-worker who works remotely. Take the consulting job or get nada.

What consulting job are you referring to?

They are targeting all High Cost personnel and all teleworkers. People that have all the knowledge, all the work ethic, and have bled for this company for years are now being thrown away like yesterdays newspaper. Meg won't be happy until she has run the company into the ground so she can run away with her millions in parachute like Fiona, and go be the financial adviser for someones campaign... Great for the rest of us left in the rubble of what was once one of the greatest companies in the world...

Do the company a favor, don't wait, leave now while there is something left.
