Layoffs have always been the risk working for Intel (and a handful of competitors). Our pay and benefits are solid but everyone knows Intel periodically downsizes and enlarges the workforce as the silicon logic market goes up and down. Put it to you this way, I know more former Intel employees than current ones. All of them were cut or left on their own to a better a position if compared to the role they played at Intel. With this being said, Intel may be the best employer for grooming employees to succeed somewhere else.

Why don't you take the place of someone who was let go? You'll be fine.
"You'll be fine." You're a big fat jerk especially since the CEO has publicly labeled everyone who was laid off as being a repeat poor performer who could not succeed in a meritocracy. The idea that Intel is a meritocracy is an absurdity as anyone who has worked there for a while and not spent most of his or her time kissing ass or sucking dick can tell you.
Oh, well there you go. That put everyone at easy. Thank you for being a dumb ass.
