According to my director, I'm not paid to think. Thinking does not contribute to QC bottom line. I have therefore delegated all of my thinking duties to my wife.

it seems to be PR stunt..I agree even if we able to push 820 to S7 it won't be profitable as Samsung will squeeze most of the profits ( Those who worked with Samsung shoul know, how brutal samsung is when it comes to negotiating and they know QC need them badly)...

Exynos VP of Marketing: "Look, the 820 rumors are rubbish. Further, who stands to benefit from strategically timed posts from less than reputable 'news' sources. All this while rumors of cost cutting, layoffs, and an activist investor breathing down their neck"

The OP put is correctly.

Even if SS takes in 820, the margins would be dismal and cost cutting pressure on QCOM would remain

Lets just assume that this rumor by some random blogger winds up being true. Its going to be a Pyrrhic victory for the Q. Look, SS isn't stupid. They know Q is desperate to get them back, and will stick the screws to Q during negotiations. So, in the end, lets say some % of their S7 devices do contain Q's chip. You guys are going to kill yourselves to get that, it will be lower margin than before, and its still more of the same. Look, the smarter ones there have figured out that while Q isn't going out of business, investor demands for more with less, more pressure from mgt to deliver the next chip in less time results in even more hacks and crap being shipped that the next guy to deal with, is just not a fun place to work at, and will take their marbles and go find a better place to play. And you have seen this already with people leaving (not those laid off). They know the score and realize that for them, better opportunities can be had elsewhere. So take your pick, kill yourself just delaying the inevitable or try something new. The smarter ones have already voted with their feet.
