Quite a lot of groups, ( not sure if they are all groups) got a missive stressing the importance of confidentiality. Do they really think that people will not talk?

You don’t want to speculate what are the sources. Sometimes company execs leak information on purpose to test the reaction. Since no real sources are cited, companies could just deny the rumor. By the time the news gets out, everyone will have gotten over the shock.

The company, according to our well informed industry sources" ............. Question is what are the "industry sources" the fudzilla author is talking about ..... who's talking?
The people with the biggest mouths are HR. They're the ones who leaked the fact that they were gearing up for terminations and layoffs. What do they expect people to do?
Fair enough. No one should leak internal info, that's not fair to the company. But I'm not employed by Q, just an interloper, extrapolating info based on what I read on the net. So, don't even try to tread on my first amend rights.

Why would a message like that come from HR? HR types are too busy taking acting classes (e.g. "Faking Empathy")
On behalf of the thelayoff qualcomm community, I would like to clarify we don't give a f*ck on what HR thinks.
