So I just accepted my offer to work at another company in San Diego. The company is public, but smaller. And the best part is it's not a company in the semiconductor industry. They've been hiring like crazy, as they hired recently 8 or so people just in my group. But I'm told all the headcount has now been filled. I got a raise, bonus, and matching RSU's in terms of value. Now, it's just waiting to see if I get pink slipped end of July.... Please please please please....

Congratulations!! Southern california tech environment is booming..should see decent growth in next few years, also heard many companies are planning to open facilities in SD to grab qcom talent..
I'm lucky I was laid off in March. It gave me time to look for a job before the San Diego job market became to saturated to absorb any more engineers. Found a great company myself. Best of luck to those who will be impacted. However there is a small minority, maybe 3-5 who I'll be happy to see let go. I may have to have my smile surgically removed for them. However my condolences to everyone else.

Anonymous114505, Funny, because they are trying to figure out which team in bangalore is going to try to pick up the work that me alone was working on....I guess it doesn't help I didn't really do my design docs in good detail....But hey, all those Bangalore people are "good enough" an entire team of them should be able to figure things out....Or not.... hahahahaha. I certainly feel sorry for the poor smucks that get laidoff in SD after 7/22. I mean, I wouldn't want to be in the situation of looking for a job when everyone else is looking. But hey, if we get more headcount, I'll be sure to talk to our team to see how much of a salary cut/benefit cut we can squeeze out of you folks so we can hire maybe two for the price of almost 1..When people are desperate, what choice do they have?
Good riddance to bad rubbish. We need to get rid of leeches like you, then maybe good honest loyal people who are probably more talented don't have to lose their jobs. I hope we can send more of them to Apple. They'd deserve each other.

Beat of luck to you...it would be a great bonus! Hopefully they take volunteers. I have my 2nd gig lined up for mid-aug, and am hoping for the same!
