Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Should we bring a class action lawsuit?

The performance based layoff was not unbiased. It desciminates against older workers. This is why:it is a well known fact that as you age your brain does not function as well as when you were a decade or so younger. An older employee has to compete against younger ones. Aging is a disease. During the stock level assignment stage of the focal process only competitive results are considered and there are no considerations of issues such as prolonged illness like cancer treatments, illness or family tram antic events. This can be demonstrated by the fact that the average software engineer age on an Intel engineer is 37 and the laid off worker is 47+. This was based on the full disclosure that intel is required to supply. So I would like to see if Intel is inadvertently violating ADEA/OWBPA. How can I do this? Would anyone like to join me?

I agree. If an NFL team has aging players with high salaries who are not contributing as much as before, the team is much better off replacing them with younger players.

To be honest I think it's actually smart from the company's point of view - older employees are taking more money, and performing worse, so why keep them? Socialism is gone, your job is not guaranteed for life.

I can't be too specific because it would identify my age and salary. However, I can say it is over a few years until FRA and includes salary, medical, dental, retirement account, SPP, 401k, RSUs, etc...

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Can you elaborate more on how this will cost you $500K? Are those lost wages and health insurance benefits? I can't imagine any company spending that much per employee annually.

Please don't respond with inappropriate statements. My life is pretty much destroyed and I thought I was performing at a satisfactory level according toy focal. My boss stated on multiple occasions that he was pleased with my work aND IMBOS were satisfied.. So this came as a complete surprise and at my age will cost me around $500k. So comments like "conspiracy LOL" is only an attempt to divert attention. So let me ask you then, do you work for HR in SC, OR or FM?
