It is hard to work everyday here not knowing when the hammer will come and BAM no more job. Feeling sad and depressed

Any additional layoffs this week?
If they only do 5 a day and drag it out that would take forever. Especially if everyone is correct in the 600-800 number. It would cause everyone to be paranoid all they time and the work would suffer. They should just rip the band aid off and get it done in a day or two. That way things can go back to normal.
I truly dislike Devon. IT department is Toxic. The entire management team needs to be fired. They devalue people and don't support the company. They forget Devon is an energy company. I am so happy that I am free from this place now. I have many friends left there and All I can say is, "the best of luck to you". Update your resume, sharpen your interview skills and get out of Oklahoma if you can. I've hated this state since the first day I moved here. Backward hicks to say the least.

I was released from Devon today. Good luck to the rest of you. It will come in small pieces as to not be visible. 3 or 5 a day
Meh - you're depressed because you want to be depressed. You can't stop what might or might not happen. To focus on something you have ZERO control over and let it get you down is ridiculous. Focus on what you can, your job. Work hard and let the chips fall where they may. You never know, by ignoring the rumors, not letting it get you down and working your ass off, you might be one of the ones that stays because of your hardworking ethic.
Totally sympathize. Just got hired on 4 months ago and moved to a small town in Permian Basin. Worried about losing job and having to relocate my kids again so soon.
