@133593: Wife and Work could be unpredictable, but SD weather is fairly predictable.

Old timers can be philosophical about getting a GTFO package, but what about young families that are just starting out. Mortgage, car payment, kids tuition are all calculated to the QC compensation. A reduction in comp would be painful, let alone losing one’s job.
Hi Anonymous133549, can you estimate your total compensation at Q over 20 years?
I am a Sr. Staff Engineer at Q and been here since 1995. Between stock options, RSUs, bonuses I am all set. My house is paid off and I have sizeable retirement and savings so that I wont have to work if I get the shaft this time. But, given the connections I have, it is highly unlikely that I will get the GTFO package, but I am ready if it happens.
