Thread regarding ECMC layoffs

Now they are making all the faculty, adjuncts and all take a silly course that will take quite a bit of time and they are not paying you for it.

I hope the Dallas and the other DFW schools are on the closing list. They all continue their illegal and fraudulent activities without any government or accrediting body saying or doing anything. It looks like the sate the government and ACICS are in with them.

Anyone involved in fraud and deception for the bottom line has no business being in the education field. Students that are kept in school by unethical and or illegal practices in most cases will result in tremendous suffering by the student later. This was the tactic of CCi and has become the tactic of Zenith because of the mentality of management that transferred over from CCi. Zenith Education Group as a business is failing badly and is survival mode until they can close the poorest performing campuses which is scheduled to start happening in January. The quality of the students will never change even after the downsizing because unfortunately, that's the kind of students these types of schools attract. Your campus may already be on the list of schools that will close, I haven't seen the list and won't until everyone sees it. Good luck with whatever your decision is.

148, if you have documentation for the accusations you claim you may want to report this to your states education board. By going to your state first you should have protection under the whistle blowers act. You also want to be positive you are reporting actual facts and not hearsay. I wouldn't go to the local news because that would give the school time to cover things up before anything could be investigated. As many have said before, the same leaders doing the same things equal the same results. It behooves me how anyone could think that the same actors following the same procedures could have a different outcome. As long as you continue to add 2 plus 2 it will aways equal 4.

148: If you have documented fraud take it to TWC. Even though I think TWC gets paid by them to keep them going and keep them paying, you need to do the right thing and report what you have. ACICS maybe another place you can report them. Channel 8 news maybe the most effective way to report your findings. From my experience fat Revina is a very nasty RVPO. If you are still a current employee be extra careful because she will fire you for no reason.

Insider: here are some I have in mind with documentation to go with it. Students remain in school without proof of graduation, falsification of documents during the ACICS visit, feeding students from the school pantry to sign up in school, keeping students in their books and charging them until external agency steps in to tell the school that the student can not be in Everest.

Depending on what the illegal activities you speak about are, that may not fall under the jurisdiction of the DOE. They may fall under accrediting agencies or state and local jurisdiction. All campus presidents are doing what they can do try and make the cut to save their own jobs but population numbers are the deciding factor. The decision has been made on which campuses stay and which ones go. The list hasn't filtered down to campus level yet and probably won't until closer to the end of the year. When the next RIF happens that will be an indication of what your campuses future is. Again, Zenith Education is not going away completely it will be smaller, at least for the near future.

Insider: As long as they close schools like the Texas schools that are doing a lot of illegal activities under Revina's leadership will be ok. I still believe that the plan is to close down all of this mess. I am not sure if the DOE will allow the illegal activities to continue.

Zenith Education Group is not going away completely. The master plan from the beginning was to evaluate all the schools and to keep 30 to 35 open. The evaluation was completed at the end of July and they are now into the planning stages of consolidation and teaching out process. They are hoping to have the process approved by the DOE and accrediting agencies by years end to be implemented January 2016. By this time next year Zenith will still be here, just smaller. Sorry to burst the bubble of those who think everything will be fine and to those who want Zenith to go away completely. I've probably said too much already.

341: As this thing winds down there will be on-going RIFs. Some managers/executives will want to ride it out to the bitter end. Making you take a nonsense class shows that they are doing "something", therefore possessing greater perceived value than some of their peers, and thus less likely to get whacked during he next RIF. It's all politics and BS, but that's all they have. Another possible explanation: don't confuse company decisions and logic.....

037 - There is no plan for WyoTech - or any EDMC school - to survive any longer than is needed to get the enrollment number down to level where teach out and closure can be done without DOE having to forgive many loans. Does the continuation of poor practices make more sense now?

I was with Wyotech for over 13 years and after CCi bought them it was the same crap. CCi worried more about training the instructors on how to give the students that warm and fuzzy feeling than training on new automotive technology. It was always about attrition and never about education. Now Zenith is doing the same things because it's run by the same idiots that ran CCi. Any time Stigshit had an all in meeting it was always about making the students happy and keeping them in school. He never spoke about the education part of things. I'm sure glad now that I was left go and don't have to play babysitter to a bunch of immature kids that couldn't care less if they learn anything. Zenith will never survive by doing the same things CCi did.

King Dave is funny. I know some of the things you said for fun are already happening at the Dallas school. We feed them from the food pantry to sign up. Then we feed them enough to stay in school for a week or two. After the two weeks, we pull the carpet from underneath them and they drop. You got to love our school.

Very funny post. Zenith does expect too much for the money they pay, but I will collect it as long as they pay it. When they decided to keep the name Everest, that says it all. They are in teach out. Don't fool yourselves. I'm guessing some executive is getting a kickback or job promise from having all of us do this new weird training class. No other explanation, seems a total waste of time. I'm doing it and I am almost done with it, but what a waste of time, a joke. I will just lie when the second part is expected to just get through like all of us will most likely do. Adjuncts just grade and post and sometimes email, what good is this training. I don't want to be their friend and I don't have face to face time with them. This is college, or was supposed to be. Many of these students are here for the money. They waste the time and have no intention of trying to do the classwork. We are still pushing through students and make no mistake about it, if you don't push them through you will get no classes next quarter. They tell you to be tough and grade on a "rubic" thing, but they only say that so they can point to that if ever questioned. If you do grade properly, more than half will flunk every class and you will not be teaching here. So we all push them through as before, what a charade.

That is hilarious. And so so true. They expect you to do all of that..... But without doing it. Lol. Too funny. Zenith is going down soon. If they don't close the schools down once they make a profit... Then the state will. For sure.

I forgot to mention, we need all of you to treat our students with extra kindness and respect. If you notice any student needing heelp please give them money or food. If you own a van or large vehicle, I would expect you to offer your students a ride to school. You should also invite a few over to your house on weekends for a free home cooked meal. If you have a daughter please encourage her to help the students out with their loneliness. I look at it as an investment in your career and the future of Zenith Education Group. Thank you for your dedication to Zenith Education and your students.

We need all of yoyou to help us change students lives. We will not be laying anyone else off. Huge merit raises coming to those who hang in there, trust me. When have I ever lied to you?

Sorry folks, the schools aren't closing. The enrollment numbers are improving and the government keeps giving ECMC more money to keep going. Funny how the tax payers are paying us because Zenith can't. I look at it as a very great welfare check. The only thing better would be if we got free food stamps and cell phones along with the wefare checks every two weeks. I say keep the cash coming Obama. I couldn't care less about the tax payers. Screw them for our benefit.

I was left go in April and now I'm glad I was. Seems like the moral of the employees left is at an all time low. I never thought it could get much lower than is was last year but it has. I'm happy that I was able to put all the crap behind me and move on. Everyone seems to be just going through the motions and waiting for their walking papers.

447 must be management. That is the way they treat employees. I have supported them up until this quarter. Now I too feel like most on this board and glad I get so few courses that it doesn't matter any more if I work for them or not. Seems like most instructors are just sheep now, they are not the best and the brightest, they are all gone.
