I've been working at the same company for many years. It's going to be weird starting over. But I'm kind of nervous/excited. I got sick and tired of just sitting around with my thumb up my ass doing no real work. I guess I could have waited for the GTFO package, but I didn't want to be in a situation of looking for a job after hundreds/thousands are looking at the same time. Plus, there were financial incentives for me to start asap wrto vesting/espp/etc at the new company. Company is in San Diego, so I didn't have to relocate. I hope I can get at least 2 years out of this company.

Do you remember the last scene in Platoon, when the wounded are being air left out, the survivors stay back and the senior guy is handed command of the platoon? It is kind of like that now, where the defeated leave QC for a better life. Those remaining might get shot.

there are issues with every company..... but with qualcomm things went south because of corruption in hiring and mismanagement at every level.....
