Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Be careful if you move up to Silicon Valley. Closed sales of houses are $100K to $300K above the listed price. 30 bids.

Real estate agents say they run into guys hired from Florida who got a 20% pay raise and thought they could

buy a house here.

Agents here purposely list houses $100K to $300K lower than the last sale to get a BIDDING WAR.

Good houses in Silicon Valley get 30 or 40 offers. Some are going $300K over asking in Sunnyvale, Mt View.

I talked to a guy at an open house who bid on 20 houses and lost every time.

Google, Linked in, Apple, Facebook are all hiring.

6 county bay area expected to gain 120 thousand new jobs each year for the next few years.

And all the apartments and hotels are full.
