Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Life after Intel

My last day at Intel was July 15th and I started my new job on July 27th. Earning more money, better benefits and great potential to move up the latter. Intel ISP is absolutely the best thing that happened to me. Each day that passes by I become more calmer. I can't believe I am out of the Intel shit hole. I got paid a full year salary by the dummies at Intel and started my new job less than two week after layoff. You will be so much happier after you leave Intel. Believe me. That company is like poison. No more 7000 employees in one place, parking a mile away from lobby.

Din (Thank god Intel is outside my life)

There is no life after Intel. I can't live without Intel. How can she leave me after all the years we spent together! And she found somebody much younger and Indian!

I am still there with 17 years so far but looking outside right now. My group lost of the most knowledgeable, experienced and hardest working engineers I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Now what is left in my group are a bunch of 1-2 yr experienced millennials. Lets see..they come in about 9:30am and leave at 4. Long lunches and always on their phone throughout the day. Oh...and there isn't a week that goes by that either their cat is sick, or they just "don't feel well". Sure BK, good luck with your new shiny company. IDIOT!!

I was on ISP in the bay area and found the perfect job at AMD. AMD also sucks as a company, but my contributions are much more appreciated.

I had a coworker who was ISPed, she had interviews lined up a week after she heard the news and started a new job the week after Intel kicked her out. All that ISP paid off her mortgage and went towards her daughter's college fund.

Given the rumors, life at Intel is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets any better. If they offer to pay you a VSP to go get a better job, take it!

Yes, Intel needs ISP to happen more often. I see too many Intel lifers who complain often, but will never leave Intel unless forced out. Unfortunately, ISPs are just what these folks need, just like parents finally kicking their 30 year old out of the house.
