Thread regarding Wind River Systems Inc. layoffs

Department closures

I heard they are eliminating departments like order management and shipping after 3rd quarter. They hired consultants to find and eliminate redundancies. They are moving their operations to Oregon (out of state). Anyone else hear this?

I have not heard anything but have noticed that job advertisements for positions in alameda aren't being pushed very hard.

Severance packages will be the same.

I heard from a few managers that things will likely get dicey in a few months. Being bought out by Intel wasn't the best thing for the employees here.

If we are let go and get any severance, it will probably be less than what Intel employees received. That seems to be the norm for us. We get less than Intel employees.

Can you please post if you hear of anything more? Do you know if people will get severence packages? People who were laid off in January said they got 1.5 weeks per year they worked here. It used to by 2 weeks for every year worked. Will the next wave of lay offs be lucky to get anything?

Yeah. Heard about it after the last post about FAEs. We are tied to Intel. Cuts won't be avoided. I think we have more coming...just a gut feeling with nothing tangible to base it on.
