Anonymous122582,having seen some of the bloated, convoluted QCT code bases, I think it's like a kettle calling the pots black. If qcom didn't think Atheros wifi and connectivity solutions were superior, they wouldn't have spent the $$. So no point being in denial, QCA will get cut > 15% for sure! but it's probably not because of the inefficiencies since it's pretty lean, but because of the "not invented here" mentality that's pervasive in the QCOM org. This culture will probably see the CSR integration falter as well unless the management teams are decisive on taking either the local team/IP or Replace with CSR team on each of the overlapping technologies. Trying to merge and produce some type of synergy with in the market window is naive at best.

If a once lean Atheros needs clean up, then the bloated QCT needs a sanitizing soak bath..

Atheros is going to happen!! I'm sure of it.....
atheros needs a serious clean up
QCA should be hit hard again. From a consultant's point of view, QCA products are very low margin. The WCN and standalone connectivity SOCs are often bundled with the MSM or modem; it's the only way anyone would use those parts. This is especially true for WCN, as the SW is an absolute clusterf**k. Therefore, a corresponding cut would be required to achieve the benchmark target margin
