Pro Business Unit is toast. This is not over yet. Friday was day 1

if you did not get laid off friday dont be counting your blessings. Pro business unit is going full india and with it you can be proud that you helped fulfill the vision of building the india middle class. Offshoring is a slow eating cancer that started largely with the misys and then eclipsy mergers and now its progressed to the fatal uncurable stage. All the hospitals and clinics now think the products are garbage and leaving in droves. You let the horrible uneducated india developers break the source code in ehr and propm to the point of no return to the point that ehr used to be considered the cadillac of ehrs and now the main description is buggy. How can you code our product when you cant understand a word our clients or we are saying. Cheap labor means cheap skills And also they give our clients attitude and no southern hospitality which is what made happy customers in the A4 days. I will be laughing when all these cronies from black all the way down to tripp are in the unemployment line because they have no skills. And the only way they know how to make profit is cut and slash and burn. Well soon there will be nothing left to cut and you will fall on your faces. And all the employees you laid off will ensure your bad mgmt style techniques knowlege goes with them and they will ensure the better companys they go to will never hire any of you cronies who brought this about. Enjoy your good nights sleep in bed with your India "partners". Soon you wont have any more money left to pay them for their special "services". I cant imagine what evil things went on during the special visit that tripp and his inner circle made to india about 4 months back to plan this out. They have sold all of us out. And will smile to your face while prepping to kick you out next. They will use you and then kick you out when they are done with you. Ask one of the ladies from the inner circle who had been here 20 years today that got booted.

If you seek retribution i encourage you to gain employment at allscripts competitors and help take down what is left. And do not support companys who utilize offshoring or you will end up in the same boat.

Please stop the rude and insensitive comments back and forth people! Don't let fear and uncertainty eat away at you.

I was a u.s. Worker let go and it isn't workforce fault but upper management. They stripped jobs from those who knew what they were doing who had the knowledge. I made many friends in India and know they did their best and wanted to do a good job. Not their fault! Not US workers fault.

Our hands were tied and we were thrown overboard.

Am I a racist because I resent that hundreds of American jobs are being taken away and handed to India? And not just at Allscripts either. I have met many nice people from India, some of them do have good skills and speak very good English. Most however are clueless as to what their responsibilities are and have a terrible work ethic compared to US workers. I know it is not their fault, they are just taking advantage of opportunities that greedy US corporations have provided. So India - before you accuse people of being racist, do your homework regarding unemployment in the US, particularly IT jobs.

Customers absolutely hate dealing with Indian resources, and there is a complete lack of quality control when Indian engineers are assigned to customer projects. Everyone below JM and PB realize it; in fact customers have been told that all development, coding, and support for TouchWorks is on-shoring back to the US, and yet Indian resources are continuing to screw up their systems; customers believe this is just spin to get the focus off how terrible the software has become. The 11.4 upgrade was a miserable, bloated, resource intensive, data center time suck of an upgrade that only further served to push more clients to Epic and Cerner. It will be interesting to see how the talking heads spin this latest round of layoffs... clearly with the leadership converting stock to cash and hundreds of people in the US losing their jobs over the last 45 days, something is afoot.

None of this is about race. While the india and us support both are being laid off upper mgmt is cashing in their stocks even just last week. Something is coming down. Either selling off the product to another company. A buyout. Or a merger. Take your pick. Layoffs this massive in the past two months have no other explanation. US nor india are the enemy. The ones lining their pockets from these layoffs are. Focus your frustration on the ones currently profiting from this. I dont blame the poster. Mgmt is sewing these lies about india takin the jobs to take the focus off the real causers here. Follow the money

I am an Allscripts India employee, and let me tell you that the grass is not freaking green over here, We had layoffs over here too, and yes we are just as much, pissed off , Insecure and Shit scared, as any of the NA folks, So please , keep that racism to your own f***ing self.!

Whomever posted the original post is sitting in a 2007/2008 timeframe. Back then, A4/Eclipsys and other bought entities weren't going anywhere, so the strategic plan was put in to place to buy these companies and integrate them into one. It was a worthy and innovative idea (One Platform) which was QUASHED by the narrow-minded CEO you currently have. It is not the PRO Development Road map that is going nowhere, it is the people within the Pro team. The amount of waste (monetary and resources) and narrow-minded designs by the Pro team is what will lead to the demise of Pro. You can surely place blame on executives for seeing this and moving towards more focus on TouchWorks/SCM. The amount of wasted resources in man hours, in both getting Pro-EHR installed and customizing and ensuring completeness, is not worth it. Don't get me started on Support (it takes 27 people on a 5 hour conference call to figure out and resolve issues). I'm amazed Pro-EHR didn't go the way of MyWay and Tiger, but it should. Cutting the fat in Pro may help to in the small to midsized provider groups so that we can re-write it in a much better design that whatever was developed before. Mind you the quality of the code that India is a producing relies heavily on the shity-ness of the design by the PRO team. Look at TW/SCM, they have Indian SME's and Architects and Tech Leads, and they are excelling where Pro did not (that doesn't mean there are some set-backs). But if you think 150 employees, mainly in Pro, should have been spared.. go walk the halls and see them just sitting on their thumbs enjoy the high life when other teams are picking up their f***ing slack. People like you (original poster) I bet. You're the one, and your stalwart co-workers, who needs to go find a new job. And soon, just like MyWay/Tiger, they will be gone. I just hope my past colleagues won't get them on their teams before they are let go.

Well they did it, misys people finally got rid of almost all the A4 people acquired in the 2008 'merger' with Allscripts. About the only ones left are not really A4, they were Compusense acquired when John M. bought their company. Sorry ladies, your development road map for Pro is leading nowhere. The best option is to sell the Pro BU now to another company who wants to salvage the apps and give them the opportunity to work as they should. This is the only way to save all the 1 - 25 physician practices who currently use Pro and can't or won't switch vendors. It is a huge expense to go through practice management and EHR switch and some just cannot afford it. All those Misys people managed to ruin the good name that they used to have in the Medic days and now along with Black have done the same thing to Allscripts. It is disappointing to see that they allowed this to happen to all the customers who depend on them and were loyal to them. Maybe it was a business decision for the massive layoffs, but business who work like this are soon out of business.

When the company is public it's very stressful and depends heavily on quarterly results. When CEO is paid in stocks, its his responsibility to keep the stock prices high. CEO just sold stocks and made ~9 million dollars last week. To make the Top leadership earn millions consistently, they need trim the workforce to adjust the revenue when the total earnings are lower than last quarter.

All is started when they did not invest in building new products. They kept on adding features on top of the buggy product(s). They should be putting efforts on adding quality to the product, rewriting the source code, changing the entire look of UI. They do not have the patience to invest some money and right talents to build the right product(s).

Agree with the name calling and stereotyping shows bad form, but for the most part, the statement is true. The leadership is making millions each year. Cut that by half and he still lives a life of extreme luxury and that could save MANY other essential jobs and experience where it's needed.
