All these doom and gloom posts and conspiracy theories - hasn't even been 90 days since Zenith purchase was completed, and less than 30 days since the sale of the remaining campuses fell through. Still, a reasonable plan for the next two years has been laid out by Troy Stovall, and regular updates every couple of weeks on how the plan is progressing. If building the largest career school in America isn't the goal, then ECMC has no other business to replace their current one, which is a student loan collection company that is ending

Starts Matter: The profle you offer for the type of student you want to see at Zenith is very nice. The challenge is finding enough of those studens to keep the doors open. With the relatively strong economy, there are fewer potential students out of work and looking for some way to make a change. Those students who do go to school- and fit your profile - tend to go to community college. Career colleges get the left overs. The net is that there are too many career colleges competing for too few reasonably capable students. CCI was not the first and will not be the last career college to fold. In tyerms of the DOE and their "backroom deal", what action (not fluffy , unimplemented plan) have you seen to indicate positive direction? Are you on a campus? Look around......
High school in charge of in school means what?
OP: Your perspective just went out of the window. Stovall just went back to preaching!
Good grief OP. Apparently 15 years and a bunch of bull we went through means nothing to this company. The assholes seen what they had before they bought it and if they didn't then that should tell everyone what a bunch of clowns are running this circus. When you get told at the end of a day that you aren't going to be employed after today see how you feel about Zenith. I hope this B.S. company implodes very soon. Dedication, loyalty and hard work mean nothing to Stigshit or ECMC.
OP: I appreciate your positive thoughts. However, positive thoughts will not bring back the jobs of 1000 people who lost their jobs a couple of weeks ago. Then we have the issue of the people at the top of the company. They are complete morons and not very many people trust them or their decision making abilities. One level down from the top you will find the CCI leftover crooks. These crooks directly impacted the crash of CCI. For those of us who went through the tough times of no pay increase for several year, furloughs, no equipment to teach, no copy paper, no toilet paper and a bunch other "little" stuff, we have high expectations and not just a bunch of empty suits with empty promises.
To dick head who just posted---I hope you're employed here so you'll understand the importance of starts when they exit you because of zero revenue.
To the people that keep making the point that starts matter must be from the admission-heavy philosophy. What sense does it make to enroll a student that is not committed nor prepared for school? That is the exact thinking that has tainted the for-profit education industry and is leading to its ultimate demise. The truth is getting 100 starts more per month at every campus won't help if the enrollees are not serious about the work to get through classes and actually getting a job. How about starting a student that really is committed and has the basic skills (reading, writing, etc. at a high-school level) to complete the coursework! Now that would be a novelty!
It's not going to be a quick fix and I am certain that there wil be more RIFs to get the organization pared down to the size that makes sense. If you aren't prepared for that then you are living in a fantasy world. It does not mean that there is some backroom deal by the DOE to close the schools. ECMC can't maintain the school loan business because it IS going to end and then what are they going to do? No, buying a school was a good move from an investment standpoint and yes they will probably get right into the lending business when they are allowed to. No surprise there, but in the mean time they are stuck with getting control of the mess that was purchased.
OP apparently doesn't realize this site is only for negative posts and seriously unhappy people
