Word is out, during the next week zero coming up ( that is the time when one term ends and the nest term begins a week later), the remaining full time online Everest faculty will be laid off. They are actively bring back adjuncts now so this online division is all adjunct based. That saves millions in health insurance costs. The scuttle butt news is they will say this is aligning to other college across the nation who have already moved to online adjuncts for their online courses. Sorry to see those full timers who feel they are safe now since they were not laid off in the last riff now get the axe.

Ah....the DOE gradual wind-down plan is moving along very nicely.
Another mass layoff at the ground schools the end of June. Enrollment numbers are not coming up so more realignment is coming and possibly more campuses going to teach outs. It looks very bad for the WyoTechs, could be closing or consolidating.
833 doing away with distinction between online and on ground? I thought each campus or region is independent and has to run like its own entity acreditation and all. They are now going to create one giant pool!?
892: The OP said "during the next week zero" not "next week is zero week".
Zero week? Didn't the spring term start in April and the next term begins in July. How is next week zero week?
Do not know if there is any truth to this -- or if it is just a rumor. However, CCi went to a FT online model with the hope that there would be a higher level of commitment and the result would be less attrition. I do not believe it is a standard that needs to be met -- sorry. Look at traditional colleges -- they are doing similar.
OP: This would not surprise me but how do you know this?
Accreditation does not require a percentage be FTF. EUO is accredited by ACICS, and the report used by their auditors, which is derived from the ACICS Criteria (the "bible" of ACICS accreditation), states in Section 9.29 (for associates, bachelors and masters degree programs) that it is a requirement the program have "an adequate core of full- AND PART-TIME faculty employed to ensure sound direction and continuity of development for the program." It does not break it down into specific percentages, but only requires "adequate" core of full- and part-time faculty.
They are doing away with the distinction between online and on ground. They have enough on ground full time faculty to cover the requirement. This is how most schools with online programs operate. They use adjuncts to teach online courses and a combination of full time faculty and adjuncts to teach on ground.
Unless the whole thing is shutting down, this is NOT possible for accreditation requirements. You think CCi hired FTFs of their own accord!?

@819 that's what I thought too. Going to zero FTF would prove those that claimed the whole thing is being shut down correct
Doesn'rt accreditation require a certain percentage of FT instructors?
They don't offer the FT faculty the option to step into adjunct positions. They just bring adjuncts that they didn't have room for before (and some that were not given classed for doing poorly on evals). It's a flawed system.
Will any of the full timers be offered adjunct jobs?
Where or how did you hear this?
