Sounds like your department was a lot like mine. No communication at all and I wouldn't trust the supervisors to manage a snow ball stand much less a bunch of field staff. Yea I agree, management will lie to you about workload and lay you off without any warning. Of course they will get to keep their job, but karma will get them. I hope they realize good experienced field staff is your best asset. Yea good comment. Stantec upper management is crap. They hire management that don't know their assholes from a hole in the ground. My entire management staff in PA didn't know anything about what they were managing but they all kept their jobs and all the experienced guys got laid off. Maybe that's why the department I was working for is going down the drain. Lots of under the table stuff going on as well. I would go pick up aluminum cans before working for stantec again.
