Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Fossil IT Management Sucks!!!

New IT management from JC Penney who brought JC Penney down moved over to Fossil and they Suck!!!

We're not sure how they all got CIO, VP, Director, Sr. Manager and Manager position but we do know they are clueless now.

No Wholesale experience! No Retail experience! No Global IT Experience! No Global Experience! No SAP Experience!

WAKE UP FOSSIL!!! THE SHIP IS SINKING JUST LIKE JC PENNEY!!!!

Yes it will be "Super Sweet" (haha) as this is a disaster in the making, but hard to believe it has taken three years to occur. Customer Care and SAP will be next to go as I suspect it is just too expensive and the "new" leadership did not come with that background. The only time "the business" spent much time "downstairs" was when there were Tornado Alerts! Otherwise, IT was just something that "magically happened" from the Basement by a group of smart employees working very hard who were obviously not valued! Can you imagine the support that will occur now with team members from India, Phillipines, etc.? You truly get what you pay for and I'm not just talking about the watches!

But wait!?!? Won't Common Services be able fix/handle everything and make super awesome magic decisions?!?!??!?!? Like they have been?!?!?? What about the rest of IT management?!??!

Maybe this outsourcing deal will be super-sweet!!!! At least that's what IT management is selling to the business!

"I would imagine the users are having coronaries realizing that we're on our way out. Difficulties and issues aside, we had a team of gunslinging IT badasses and now they're all going to other companies." So true. The business users for whom the gunslinging IT badasses worked their tails off for years have no idea how good they had it with Fossil's IT team. No more marching into the SAP area demanding this and that. No more treating one of the smartest guys on the team like dirt. No more dictating who gets assigned to your tickets and GETs. No more calling all the shots. For the business users who worked closely with the SAP team, life as they know it at Fossil is surely over.

I would imagine the users are having coronaries realizing that we're on our way out. Difficulties and issues aside, we had a team of gunslinging IT badasses and now they're all going to other companies. Fossil forgot their values with all these new people. Those of us who had been there a long time should have seen some writing on the wall and maybe we did and just hoped it wouldn't come true. For their sake I hope they realize their mistake.

Do not worry, they probably signed a bad deal like other companies in the area. It will cost Fossil more money over the term of the contract than keeping IT "in house". Frustration and Poor Service will go up. They will try to to bring it all back after a few years. Wait and see, I have seen this happen many of times.
