Thread regarding ECMC layoffs

Maintaining the existing management structure and operating methodology makes perfect sense......

.......if you consider that the plan is to gradually (or maybe quickly) reduce student population to the point that teach-outs become unavoidable. This ensures that DOE will not need to forgive huge numbers of student loans. The students and employees? Mere pawns in a larger political game.

Yep, at least we got severance. With the money losses becoming greater by the day, there may not be money left for severance options later.

Presidents and managers alike hace done well at covering their tracks. Hey government you did not dig deep enough, you missed the real truth and a lot of late nights of white out and computer file altering.

Thanks for my severance

Correction 964, they are TRYING to enroll new students. By what I'm hearing it's not going very well. Most campuses will have the lowest student population they ever had. The Wyotechs are suffering big time with about 600 - 650 students combined between Laramie and Blairsville come July. Those numbers can't even keep one campus operating. Things are looking grim for the Wyotech instructors.

With enrollments down ( even though they are trying hard to enroll anybody with air in their lungs) the Zenith thing will be history in less than a year. The leadership is still the same crooks from the CCI mess. Why should anyone except different result? Same crooks equal to same results equal to closing.

Ok people, now that the DOE is going to forgive millions of loans for CCi students, they are NOT going to forgive loans for Zenith students (nonprofit, student choice, yada yada). They are admitting new students. They are not ceasing operations.

That makes sense as to why there were no new students accepted across all ground and online before the start of the mini term. Sounds like any company not accepting new students is not out to try to stay in business. It sounds more like manage those students we have until they graduate so there loans with Zenith will be there when they graduate.

Corinthian was hiring toi. They probably laid people off are hiring people at a lower rate until they do what they have to do. By now you should know that none of this is a guarantee that your job us safe. The OP is probably right unfortunately. I have been through this several times over the span of a 30 year career.
