Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

So, why are we still using the name Everest when its reputation is irredeemable?

So, we are going to re-brand the Everest name, is that the understanding? My guess is that Hawn and crew came up with the stupid Zenith name when they were drunk, then test marketing showed that people thought it was stupid and associated it with the old TV sets. So, being lazy douche-bags, they just decided to stick with Everest and its horrible, terrible, no good rep. Why even bother? Every potential student has seen the ghetto ads and will at least subconsciously associate us with that, forever. I mean, they were so abysmal they went viral and even had humorous knock-offs with millions of views. Every potential employer has had career placement try to trick them into hiring dud graduates. Do they think that the words "non profit" will magically fix everything? God, how could we have been bought by people even dumber than the last group? Nobody else could have as much bad luck as we do. (sigh) Please God, just let me find a new job by the end of the month! I seriously can't take anymore of this lame-ass crap.

The Everest name stays for three years. Read the documents.

Zenith could NEVER receive Regional accreditation-

The name change is fooling no one but Hawn and his minions. Employers for student and employees alike are avoiding it like the plague.

Why rebrand when you plan to close/teach out in a few months?

Doesn't Hawn realize that what he bought is the equivalent of a Yugo Dealership?

859 -- If he was serious about improving the public's perception of us, he'd go for regional accreditation, but you know that ain't gonna happen. We'll be the sorry school of last resort u8ntil we finally just peter out. It will still be embarrassing for our grads to say where they went to "college" and it will still be embarrassing for us to say where we work.

Hey why not change the name of the schools to Zenith Education. We could train people in television repair and make a fortune. We could even resurrect Zenith's old slogan, The Education Goes In Before The Diploma Gets Printed. Catchy isn't it? Where's my $25000.00 Hawn?

Because it's the same company, same game plan. 90% of the people out there don't know the difference between for-profit and non-profit statis of a school nor do they care. Hawn can fantasize all he wants but adding the wording non-profit to Everest and Wyotech will not make a difference in how people perceive the schools. The bad publicity for-profit schools have gotten has changed the publics perception of all career schools. Hawn said he expected to lose millions in the first 2 years but I don't think the board of directors will let that happen. He talks about continuing to right size staff to student population, that means continuing to reduce the staff because the student population is still dropping.

I have an idea of why we're doing it. It's so that all of the managers can put "Zenith" on their resumes and nobody will know what that means. Just like everyone retroactively became Socle when that name was made up, so they wouldn't have to be associated with Corinthian Colleges. They don't care if the brand thrives, or even survives. They just want to trick future employers so they won't be held accountable for their management failures. This is all just a big scam.

Hawn just loves anything to do with "peaks" if ya know what I mean. It's purely a phallic thang. Everest, Zenith...I wouldn't be surprised if ECMC stood for Everyone Climb Mountains Co.

Hawn loves the Everest name, because it reminds him of all the moolah the U.S. government paid him to harass our ex-students.
