Thread regarding ITT Educational Services Inc. layoffs

Current climate

I'm a former school chair that was "laid off" to adjunct level, then completely laid off in 2012. For those facing impending layoffs, there is a light at the end of the tunnel (and it's not a train, it's better opportunities with other, more ethical companies).

The environment at ITT was absolutely toxic in my time there, and my question is how much has this changed, if any, since Modany's monkey-@$$ left?

Modany still seems to be around despite having "resigned" which is one good reason why the board needs to go too.

There is no perceptible change. The admin side still spend their days chasing impossible numbers handed down by head office while congratulating themselves on "helping students" while the academic staff simply roll their eyes and wonder where it will all end.

They continue to block adjuncts from teaching classes if not enough students passed last time and they continue to engage in the academically fraudulent practice of firing chairs and deans if they didn't retain enough students which is a clear conflict with the maintenance of academic standards.

Modany and his crew have no interest in academic standards. For them it is all about revenue. The SEC complaint seeks to bar Modany from holding office in a public company. He should also be barred from having anything to do with education in future!

@"Honest" - I have a question for you. Many schools similar to us have boards here - the boards are flooded with messages, if you look at Heald, Corintihan, UOP, etc. you'll see thousands of messages - why do our people keep quiet? I'd agree with you that we have a very toxic environment, but would not people want to express their disatisfaction with the work environment? Abusive boss? Executive abuse? Anything? But all we have here is silence? WHY?
