Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Who read Hawns letter on the Portal?

New and creative best practices of "Student Orientation" or "Saving our Student"?????? These have been in place since Dave Moore roamed the halls. Joke!

SOS =Same Old S&@!

THIS is what the RVPOs and Stiglick have pawned off on Hawn as a secret weapon? Damn. Not an original idea anywhere. This crap has been ineffective for decades. Shouldn't be surprised, Zenith has kept the same idiot "leadership" so why not " best practices".

The one I love is Heidi stating all campuses should have toys in the lobby ao all them little children that don't have daycare can play with when mommy comes to sign her life away and not disturb the rep and FA. BEFORE she is dropped for missing due to NO CHILDCARE.

Hounding first then if that doesn't work, beg them to stay. If they still want to withdraw a little bribe might be in order. Different name same old game. They can try all the new angles but in the end it's still CCi ways. What do you have when you polish a turd? You still have a turd.

Anonymous103980, not begging. It is more like "hounding".

SOS, it's a shame when the schools are so bad and the students don't care about learning that you have to resort to begging the students to stay. Another great idea is to high pressure students into signing up for additional classes they can't afford. Don't worry you will be able to pay $1200.00 a month in school loans when you get that great paying job.

Ah yes the old SOS meetings every morning. God how I don't miss those. Johnny has been missing a lot of class, we need to engage with his parents. Jimmy says he is going to leave because he doesn't have any money or food. Can anyone go to the grocery store and buy Jimmy some food so he stays?

Yeah, the SOS approach is definitely not new, and nor do I think it is particularly effective. Having every able bodied person call students that have been absent might keep a student enrolled by cajoling them to return to class to make attendance. However, little is done to address the underlying cause such as no income, no transportation, addiction, or pending legal issues. Somebody has to be courageous enough to tell the student that maybe the best thing for him/her is to drop and get his/her lift in order and then come back. So the SOS program keeps them enrolled for the short term but in the end does the student a big disservice by not adequately preparing them for employment. Again, more repackaged ideas that ultimately destroyed the CCi brand brought up by the worthless managment holdovers.

How about right sizing for our student population? Code for everyone is gone because "enrollments" aren't important.
