I strongly believe that the Zenith experiment is a complete failure and, it needs to close down ASAP before they victimize more students.

636, the Dept of Ed must collect as much as possible AND identify a scapegoat. They have the power and the records to do just that. Looks like ECMC and Zenith execs will be on a tight leash for a long time. After all, the CCi leadership will be fighting criminal charges and their fines can only do so much to offset the massive debt ED is dealing with. ECMC will be the "outside prison bitch".
OP: I agree that Zenith needs to close ASAP. However this is not an experiment. This is more of a fraud in the name of DOE that gave them the green light to victimize innocent people. Innocent victims come to Zenith and get nothing out of this fraudulent organization. Close this fraud down now!
757: The sooner that day comes at which time the victims of this mess rise up and say no more, the better.
737 - Eventually people get tired of it and burn the whole rotten mess to the ground. With millions of young people trapped by debt burdens they can't pay that are often 3-4 times what was borrowed, there is a pretty strong incentive for just that kind of thing.
636: Sad but true. When people can't find justice because the entire system is fraud is a very sad story.
329 - That is how crooked operations work, now if you go to the DOE they also cover up for the schools and collection companies because they are buddy buddy too.
OP: You are totally wrong. This is not a mess. This is a hot mess. These company created an environment that doesn't allow any employee to voice their concerns or issues. Here is the chain reaction of this mess: You bring your concerns to your president, the president does nothing, you go to the RVPO then you are in deep s because the president is buddy buddy with the RVPO . You then turn to HR for justice and now you are in more trouble because HR is buddy buddy with the RVPO who is buddy buddy with the president and you are totally f*. Thanks a lot ZENITH!
172: The school I work at we are doing fraudulent stuff all the time. My president allows all kind of stuff to go on.
I think 802 has it right. Why isn't DOE up in arms about ongoing bad practices? Because they will be left holding the bag. There is ample ongoing evidence of fraud and fiscal irresponsibity to warrant further action by DOE, but they fail to act. The longer the schools hang on, the fewer loans there are to excuse. I would love to see an accounting of the dollars flowing from DOE to ECMC and CCI right now.
722 what major RIFS? Have you heard something or is it speculation? I'm 630 btw. I would have to agree with you that given the current status it's highly likely there is more on the way.
630: I hope you are right about Zenith going out of business. They didn't do anything to show that they have any interest staying in business. They kept all the CCI corruption (RVPO's, presidents, regionals) and they hired the summest people to be the leaders of this company. Exactly what qualifies Troy and Mike L to hold their current positions? The sooner they shut down this operation the better.
839-
You are confused. The marching orders are coming from TS. She has no clue so the only solution is to repeat the stupid concept of making calls. Someone really needs to do background checks on these folks. TS writing 2 books and PhD my butt.... I sense fraud in the air as far as the leaderships or lack there of educational background. We should hire forest gump stupid is stupid does..... TS - tells the deans what to do - deans tell the PDs what to do - PDs tell the PLs what to do...... stupid crap starts at the top of the mountain....... chop off the head and let the workers work...... Why is it TS is always asking everyone what do you think we should do? what can we do? how should we do this or that? TS is clueless !!! TS = EUO dumb ass leader..... Tampa
I too am a PL. I thought the idea after we let faculty go that we would come up with a new plan of attack and not the same old shit of dial, dial, dial. I cant wait until the PDs, and Deans are let go. Then maybe we can get some new leadership to help these students.
I would say that apparently, it appears the federal government did not want CCI to close since that would mean a huge amount of student loans would be wiped out, leaving the federal government with millions of dollars lost through defaulted student loans. Politically, that would have been a great scandal with the current federal administration. Thus, we have a deal now between EMEC and DOE to slowly wind down the classes, get rid of the students, and save the government from having thousands of students default on their student loans. Politically, this would look much better and not cause a widespread news coverage. We will see by the next week zero, how many more lay offs come as the student enrollment drops further. While there is no hard evidence to support this idea, looking at the situation makes it a plausible concept.
Lord, thank you from delivering me from evil two weeks ago. Whew!
I haven't seen anything to improve the student population or more importantly improve the quality of the student experience. We still don't have the necessary equipment to teach our classes effectively and still have instructors teaching classes they don't qualify to teach. The ACICS idiots are paid to keep their mouth shut. If not, there are plenty of things to find wrong when they do their visits for the change in ownership. The sooner this thing closes the better.
With major RIFFs coming next week-it is apparent what the end game is. Teach out, close out and farm the students to other schools. We have NEVER seen cuts like the ones coming, especially after all of the bullsh!t in the last two years. If you haven't started to look, don't wait.
By the way, NO ONE is getting raises this year again. Almost like baseball-3 strikes and you are OUT.
I agree with 595, this is no experiment. I believe that this was the plan cooked up by the DOE and ECMC. Has anyone heard of a plan to increase enrollment? Has anyone seen big improvements at their campus? Is the student population continuing to plummet? I believe when the population gets down to a certain level agreed on by the DOE, Zenith will go out of business and the few remaining students get their loans dismissed. Saves the government about a billion dollars and it's no loss to ECMC. Why do you think Troy is listed as the Interim President and not the President? Short term that's why. I may be out in left field with my thoughts but I haven't seen anything happening to attract more and better students.
Complete failure is an understatement. This place doesn't know what it's doing from one day to the next; heck one minute to the next. I'm a PL here and have been told to call, call, call...so I am calling the same students that 5 other people have called on the same day. No one will listen when I tell them the students (and in many cases, their parents) are getting tired of the useless phone calls. PD's don't seem to have a unified brain among themselves--each has different expectations depending on how they feel. Was thinking this might be my last term, but I am not even sure I'll finish out the week.
It's not an experiment, it's a short-term play
