If you have been laid off or will be laid off in the future, I feel for you. Please keep this I mind. In any type of acquisition, specifically one that centers on acquiring a financial failure, it takes time to recover. Part of that process is right sizing the organization. You have to define your base level, restructure and then add employee assets to assist with the new strategy. Our student pop is 40 percent lighter. Therefore, reductions are needed. There is no other way around it. They have existed as Zenith for approximately 10 weeks. Short timeframe for righting all of the operational wrongs. However, in 10 weeks they have accomplished quite a bit. It will take a full year before you realize full change and a new operational strategy.

It isn't that this wasn't seen coming, the issue is how it was handled. Shoot they tried to lay me off before Everest was sold to ECMC.
The leadership is very poor and the execution of these layoffs shows the leadership of ECMC.
@516 - This has been coming for over a year. Anyone with half a brain knew it was coming. Give me a break.

This company called people up on a Fri (after they have not only brought them on board a couple months ago, but even passed on retirement program info to give any reasonable person the impression that RIFs were not in the immediate future) with a script, with no advance warning, and didn't even have the decency to give us details on how our last paycheck would not be via direct deposit until a large conglomerate of RIF'ed personnel mass-emailed HR in panic. Did people RIF'ed have an idea this may happen in the future? Sure, but Armageddon will happen in the future, and that doesn't mean we won't be caught off guard if the End of Days happens at 1:00pm today! Yeah, no one can see coming a surprise attack, you twit.
The "educated" instructors at CCI/ECMC/Zenith don't understand that when revenue drops expenses have to drop as well, and that the biggest expense is compensation? Shocker. People who fell for the "no cuts or rifs" when student population is down 50% across the company only have one sucker to blame....
I think OP is trying to say that expectations are a bit high in the first two months. I hate the RIFs. However, no one can say that they did not see this coming.
OP you sound as if you know the present and the future of Zenith. Let me give you me version of the present. Zenith didn't do anything to improve our student experience since we still have labs with no equipment to comply with curriclum. We improvise by going from lab to lab to find what we need. Zenith continues to employ crooks from CCI from recycled RVPO's to regionals. ( We always wonder what our RVPO does or what the regionals do). They still don't have any entrance exam established as they promised. Zenith hire Mike L. who has no idea what he is doing. Here is my version of the future: Zenith will continue to RIF good people, continue to enroll students who can't read or write, continue to blame the teachers for students who drop from school, regardles if they drop because they are in jail, or they have 5 kids and no babysitting, or they don't have a way to school, or they just don't care.
Wait so you think it was OK that Zenith "transitioned" all of these employees over to make themselves look good to ED and then laid them off? I know there were HUNDREDS of adjuncts who they played and had them do the HR paperwork, and these adjuncts had NO courses when they were forced to do the paperwork. These poor adjuncts were then terminated. You think that is OK and ETHICAL? If Zenith had no plan to keep them on staff, they should have laid them off before the transition rather than play them like fools!

If it makes people feel better to vent/complain, let it be. Many of us were shocked to be part of the cutbacks. Granted, it's only a matter of time until the wheels fall off for everyone and we all know that to some degree). bitch away my friends, bitch away ;)
