I looked at my direct deposit and noticed today, Friday, I was not paid for the last two weeks of work. Are they sending us a hard check instead of a direct deposit?

036 is right-- for most states, you will receive it by US Mail. Except California.
I got no direction on any letter about the final check. Terrible communication. I do have other work, but it does suck to be let go this way, especially after all of the time and energy spent trying to help students, academically and personally. I suppose after taking a week off it's time to look for new opportunities. Good luck.
It depends on your state. If you live in CA you got a check last Saturday (if you were laid off on Friday). Some state will have a live check shipped to you today.
If you haven't received it today, call HR and leave a message. You probably won't hear back until Monday now.
And I did talk to HR about this today.

Same here -- I'm an adjunct and no check and no mention of how the check was to be delivered in my termination email.
This was my question too. There is no information in my termination email about my final check. I was working under the assumption that the check due for today would be auto-deposited into my account. This seems like a breach of my contract...
I was laid off last Saturday, did NOT get a check, and nothing is mentioned in my termination email. I was an adjunct and did not get paid as expected today.
If your remote faculty/employee, checks are being sent from Cali on Monday. That means when they get to Florida, they will re-mail them out to everyone. Your last check and severance are mailed. Just had to read it!
If you were laid off you should have gotten a live check last Saturday. It is in the termination/resignation email/letter they sent.
