Is this the same "buyer" from last year and from earlier this year or just another fabrication from the incompetent management being swallowed up by the masses as "truth?"

906--I don't think the AG or DE have any plans except to take Heald down. If there is a buyer on the table, they are going to set it up to take them down, too. They want to irradiate the for-profit, private post-seconday institutions and CA's AG is helping them start that move.Heald is going to be their example.

Really???? All this blathering about a new buyer? It won't be Heald people that announce anything. They are worthless pawns to CCI, remember, the company that signs your paychecks. If there was a buyer or even a potential one, they would have been a part of the CSAC meeting to safe Cal Grant funding, they would be in the news saying how much they want to save Heald, heck, they would have been some of those people holding the immature signs in Sacramento. Wake up people.

So if there's a new owner, does the 30 million fine magically disappear?

906 I think we are saying the same thing, the DOE and AG are using it as a negoting tactic, the buyer is using it to drive down the price and get Heald for a bargain. Imagine how great a deal it would be for the new owner to get the most profitable part of CCi for nothing. Honestly, it is working. Heald is coming back stronger than ever!

900--it's not a negotiating tactic. The AG and DE don't need to negotiate, they just have to shut us down by the book. They have no interest is keeping Heald alive and are taking the final blows to end a corrupt organization. Heald is worth almost nothing at this point and won't survive much longer, it's just a matter of time.

900, thank you! I have been saying the same thing for a while now. At this stage of the game Heald management would accomplish nothing by lying and saying there are still interested buyers. Think about it, what would they have to gain? If there were no buyers and we were going to shut down, again at this stage, they would just say it. I don't believe for a minute we are being lied to, I believe that there are in fact a couple of interested buyers still negotiating terms. Now I'm not saying the sale will go through, but I believe we still have a fighting chance.

896 If the DOE and AG wanted to shut us down, they would have already. Why are we starting classes Monday? Because someone with enough money and power is talking with them and ready to buy Heald at a bargain. This whole thing is a negotiating tactic.

873 you believe your CP? Our CP assured us we would be sold by October of last year...and then before the end of the year...a little after the start of the year...before the quarter was over...and today.... They continually say positive things becuase what else would they say? "Sorry guys, it looks like you're going to be laid off any day now but keep putting 100% into your work!" Between the AG's vow to protect California students and the Dept of Ed's action, why would someone buy us? Even if we are bought (huge IF), there would be a massive dismantling and it would not end well for most of us. I wish I could be as blindly believing as you, however. Life would seem better until reality hit.

The AG does not have to give permission for the sale. And what is to negotiate???

The CP has assured us that the buyer is currently in negotiations with the AGs office and we will know by Monday, most likely good news.

The more likely scenario is that mgmt is on the phone with the lawyers planning the shut down and negotiating your severance (if any). While staying close to your phone, take a minute to gather up yuor photos and other personal belongings. Don't leave them at the office over the weekwend....

Why are people expecting honest answers from a company that's being fined for gross dishonesty?
