Do you think the doors will be locked tomorrow or Friday?

Yeah, Democrats did those 900-odd falsifications. Take some ownership.

162--depends on how you define "elites." All these charges and troubles are coming from Democratic administrations.

My suggestion is to go on, "business as usual." This lets the power brokers trying to close Heald know that we mean business. Nothing, I mean nothing, scares these elites more than educated students. Let's fill those minds and see what happens. Teach out, teach in, teach up. Who cares. Just show up and teach!

My gut feeling is that there won't be an April start. The announcement might not come in until the weekend or even on Monday when everybody shows up for work. Nobody in Heald management wants to take the newly added responsibility of "caring" for the current students. The DOE is telling Heald in so many words "you have to take care of the current students". The simplest way to do that ironically is to simply call it quits. Heald is looking at possible criminal charges and one sure way to improve that happening is to shut down in the middle of a new quarter far better to shut down before the quarter starts.

118 - That assumes Heald has sufficient cashflow to keep the doors open. Not a safe assumption.....

@ 118: "I thought teachout was what the Department of Education basically said had to happen. Heald has to either help students find other programs or let them finish their education. That's a teach out." Yes that is what the DoE said, but why would Heald suddenly start following the rules now?

This is a giant mess and with all this going on I have zero faith there will be a buyer. A teachout is probably looming. I hope the DAA will let the teachers know by Friday what the plan is.

I'm thinking that there will be some sort of April quarter, but that it will look very different. There may be some consolidation. Somebody's got to help the current students find programs or finish their time at Heald. Instructors will be let go as their courses become unneeded. For example, an English 50 or Math 50 instructor who didn't have upper level courses would probably be among the first to go, while those teaching clinical or vocational courses would stay the longest. That could take up to a year, with class sizes diminishing along the way.
