Thread regarding ECMC layoffs

Our new team consists of 10 full-time PLs and Faculty PLUS 30 Adjuncts. Only 4 Adjuncts are without classes.

So they kept a large number of adjuncts that have classes assigned to them right now. It sounded from many posts that large amounts of adjuncts were "let go". Not so in this case and it makes sense if they wanted to save money.

Why did they layoff so many adjuncts then?

In business they cut 33 (23%) adjuncts.

The campus locations will feel it in the next 30 days. ECMC/Zenith are all about the profits. If letting go a lot of instructors will translate into more profits then they will do that. They don't give a shit about their employees or their students. The new M.O is load those classes up and have as few classes available to students as possible.

the word is out -- they want mostly adjuncts not full-timers. Saving money on benefits-- the campus locations will be next for this trend.
